United States Davis Cup captain Jim Courier is "tired" of his the team's recent failures in the competition.
With 32 wins from 61 final appearances, they are the most successful nation in Davis Cup history, although they have not lifted the trophy since 2007.
The USA have been eliminated in the first round by Great Britain in each of the past two years, and they face another stern test against Australia in Melbourne this week.
Previously a dominant force, the men's game in the States has struggled badly in recent years, with no top-10 players and John Isner the only man inside the top 20 of the ATP rankings.
"I'm tired of losing in the first round. The whole team is tired of that," said Courier, a Davis Cup winner in 1992 and 1995.
"But we know in coming here if we're playing anything less than our best we'll be out of this thing in the first round again.
"I don't feel any more or less pressure. I certainly have expectations on how I want our team to perform but I'm also someone who's been through these battles enough to know that you can do the best you can and leave it on the court."
