Plus, he talks Taylor Swift and Amber Rose.
Kanye West made The Life of Pablo available on Tidal just over a week ago, but he’s still got more new music that we haven’t heard.
The latest evidence came Tuesday night, when Kanye played a new track — widely being called “Closest Thing to Einstein” — while at Yo Gotti’s album release party at 1OAK in Los Angeles. On the track — which features Sampha and either uses or very directly samples the beat from Jay Z’s “Where I’m From” — ’Ye raps about an array of the recent headlines he’s made.
“Got friends that ask for money knowin’ I’m in debt,” he raps early on, later adding lines like, “People tryna say I’m goin’ crazy on Twitter,” and “This generation’s closest thing to Einstein/ So don’t worry about me, I’m fine.”
He also had a mic in his hand at one point — and we know what that means: He proceeded to go on a vintage Kanye Rant, addressing his “Famous” line about Taylor Swift and her reaction when he first told her, and Amber Rose’s claims about their sex life.
Now, I’m just waiting for an official, non-live version of “Closest Thing to Einstein.”
