Starting off the week correct, Curren$y dropped off his new EP Stoned On Ocean. The free EP was only announced last week , with the release coming as a surprise late this afternoon. The project is entirely produced by legendary duo Cool & Dre, so you know you’re about to get some smooth beats. There are only two features on the EP, each past/frequent collaborators, Wiz Khalifa and Styles P. Wiz shows up on the paper-chasing anthem, “Speedboat,” which features whimsical production from Cool & Dre. Wiz arranges his flow on the hook according to the flute-driven beat. The other day, Kanye West premiered the scandalous music video for “Famous” at a special event. Unfortunately, Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife 2 won’t be the summer soundtrack we had hoped for, as the release has been pushed back into mid-August. The delay was probably a smart move, though, as the Ear Drummers duo needed a couple more huge singles to help drive up the anticipation for the follow-up to their much beloved debut album. “By Chance” has stayed hot for most of the year, and “Look Alive” — especially with its new video — is a lock in the current summer rotation.
