The organisers of North Wales’ first Euro 2016 fanzone have emphasised the event’s family-friendly ethos after being inundated with requests to attend from across the region.
On Monday it was revealed that Mona Showground on Anglesey will host the event to coincide with Wales’ Euro 2016 quarter final clash with Belgium on Friday night .
But less than 24 hours after the announcement was made, organisers were bombarded with enquiries from as far afield as Rhyl.

The capacity for the fanzone will be capped at around 1,500, so the organisers want to to emphasise its aim is to give families a venue to enjoy one of Wales’ biggest games in years.
Heidi Williams, one of the event’s organisers, said: “The event has been designed purely for families to have an opportunity to enjoy the experience and atmosphere of watching our country play in the quarter-finals.
“We want everyone to enjoy have to but stress that this event has been created for families, with pre-match activities such as a bouncy castle, quad bikes and face painting.”
